We are pleased to exhibit Outer Hebo, Kris Hargis's latest body of work. Often created in a state of ruminative isolation, heightened over these past months, his self-portraits and fading floral still life drawings- in chalk pastel, graphite, watercolor, charcoal, conte crayon- are the result of deep looking and introspection. Flesh and petal both seem to bear burdens; an impression answered by the artist’s steadfast, empathetic gaze, potent shocks of color, and energetic linework, which all suggest a hopeful continuity in eventual new growth and flowering.
Please virtually join us on Thursday, November 5 at 5pm for a live broadcast on Facebook and YouTube with Kris Hargis in conversation.
