V. Maldonado presents paintings on canvas and paper inspired by being a life-long runner. Recalling early childhood pursuing imigration from Mexico to the U.S., and embracing recent adult years coursing Portland's forest trails and tracks, these new works act as maps of Maldonado's experiences, thoughts, and emotions. It can be said that runners sometimes race to something and sometimes run from something, Maldonado mines life's highs and lows with this visually brilliant new series.
