Andrew Alba's painting, Paisanos is a group portrait of four countrymen all wearing different silhouetted sombreros each with a distinctive mustache. A seemingly simple application of oil grows more and more intriguing because of Alba's choice of substrate made up of sewn-together repurposed fabrics. The floral bedsheets and a faint floral-like shape behind the men give them a softer and subtle presence. Paisanos is a prominent example of Andrew Alba's use of color and material.
