Nuestra Arte: Juntos PDX

Nuestra Arte is a special one-day event in collaboration with Juntos PDX.

 

Juntos PDX is a platform created to connect the Latin Hispanic community to their roots, inspire them to embrace their heritage, and celebrate the diversity, talent, and resilience of the culture. The event will be full of family-friendly activities, and community building.

Froelick Gallery proudly represents the work of Latinx contemporary artists; V. Maldonado, Andrew Alba, and Orlando Almanza. Works by each will be on view on March 2nd to accompany the installation of Latina guest artists picked by the Juntos PDX platform; Ashley Arriaga, Savina Monet, and Xochitl Nuño.

 

Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Portland Latinx-owned businesses, Bar Cala @barcalapdx and Chilango PDX @chilangopdx

 

 


 

 

Juntos PDX Guest Artists 

Ashley Arriaga 

With roots extending from Guatemala to Mexico, Arriaga is a self-taught stained glass artist who draws inspiration from her diverse cultural backgrounds to further explore and embrace her true self.

 

Xochitl Nuño
Xochitl Santana Nuño is a talented 20-year-old autistic Latina artist based in Portland, Oregon. She is currently studying Intermedia at Pacific Northwest College of Art. Her realism portraiture explores Mexican-American identity and challenges Eurocentric beauty ideals while exploring feelings of cultural void. Xochitl received a National Gold Medal from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in 2022 and is a recipient of the Pacific Northwest College of Art Equity Scholarship.
 
Savina Monet 
Savina Fierro is a Chicana collage artist who melds vintage magazines and color to explore the intricate layers of her identity. She transforms cutouts into contemporary visual stories of Mexican culture.
