1997 Lois Allan wrote in her epic book "Printmakers of the Pacific Northwest": "The tangle of thin, black lines that characterizes many etchings like 'Maybe,' 1996, operates on two levels: Visually, it animates the surface, teasing the images into existence and structuring the composition. Improbable situations and barely legible forms seem to emerge of their own accord from Prochaska's fast-flowing line. Conceptually, the strange scenes can be associated with dreams, fantasies, or the fragmentary thoughts that rise unbidden from the mind."
