Ritsuko Ozeki lives and works in Tokyo. She received her her B.A. in Painting and M.A. in Painting and Intaglio from the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Japan in 1994 and 1996, respectively. She has exhibited throughout Japan as well as internationally. Her work is featured in collections such as Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, Japan and Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR.

 

Ritsuko Ozeki’s etchings are characterized by a spareness of composition and efficiency of line. Ozeki utilizes many print processes in her editioned work, while focusing primarily on sugar lift and line etching to create intricate, painterly surfaces. Her imagery often makes use of everyday objects and scenes to comment on larger themes of the human life cycle.
