We are honored to announce that two of Maldonado's large scale paintings have been purchased by Oregon museums for their permanent collections! The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon has acquired "The Fallen," and the Portland Art Museum has acquired "Sala Roja."
The Schnitzer Museum's purchase was supported by The Ford Family Foundation's Art Acquisition Fund and the Oregon Arts Commission. Maldonado created the works in 2018 and both were included in the November 2018 solo exhibition "Liberation Stories" at Froelick Gallery. Both institutions will exhibit their paintings in the near future; and this is the first acquisition of Maldonado's work by each. Maldonado has been represented at Froelick Gallery since 2001, and they are a professor at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, OR.
