Portland-based playwright Greg Berman presents his original work as a staged reading in collaboration with Astoria Visual Arts. The story follows artist, Rick Bartow who is paralyzed after a stroke and enlists the help of a young medical student in an attempt to form a therapy model that uses art as expressions of trauma. The artwork includes lost Indigenous pieces, abstract animal paintings, masks, and song. A post-show discussion with Berman and Charles Froelick of the Froelick Gallery is offered after the performance on Saturday, Oct. 7.
