Schmid reviews Jim Denomie's solo exhibition of paintings that engage with the protests at Standing Rock against the DAPL pipeline. The author makes particular note of the paintings, Rock-Mother and Child (Pre-birth), 2019 and Standing Rock-Cop with a Social Disease, 2019 in addition to the most well-known paintings in that series, Standing Rock, 2016 and Wounded Knee, 2016.
