Daniel Robinson tells us of his oil on linen painting by the same title, "'Up River' depicts the very unique and dramatic Clarno Valley in central Oregon with the John Day River lacing through its basin, and giant volcanic ridgelines bounding the sides. Besides the beauty, the area is ideal for growing seed crops, such as carrots, because the high cliffs prevent cross pollination from other crops in other regions. It feels like a strange and magical place on the earth."
This work is mounted in a rag window mat.
