Sakhalin taimen, (Parahucho perryi), known commonly in Japan as "ito," is an ancient and endangered species in the salmon family. It is found in the Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido and in Russia. It is an apex predator and can grow up to 2 meters in length- a huge fish. They are known to live up to 20 years and spawn multiple times.
