In 1997 Lois Allan wrote about this work in her epic book "Printmakers of the Pacific Northwest": "Prochaska, who has traveled and worked extensively in Europe (the title of 'Den Armen Duvel' relates to his experience at the Franz Mazareel Print Center in Kasterlee, Belgium, where this print was made), might also be refering to the political relationships between the small, break-away countries whose confrontations wreak havoc. Although meanings begin, he says, in his own thoughts and emotions, their strength is that they can be read into the experience of each viewer."
