Boraz writes: "Are Our Plates Full, Because Yours Is Empty?" is a commentary on capitalism and systemic inequality. The table represents the structure we collectively gather around and benefit from, often at the expense of those with less power or access. The figures are all dressed in white, symbolizing dominant American privilege and the illusion of innocence—as though our hands remain clean despite participation in unequal systems. At the far end of the table, a lone figure eats a slice of cake, referencing Marie Antoinette and the phrase “Let them eat cake,” underscoring the disconnect between abundance and suffering.
