Ozeki comments, "(This work is) based on the theme of “Gardens.”
In Japan, gardens are made not only with plants, but also with natural stones and sand. Sometimes, stones are used as decorations, as in bonsai.
Given that there is a form of psychotherapy called "box garden therapy,” I think gardens are like mirrors that reflect the human heart.
The artwork titled Pine (Matsu松) is one of the most popular motifs in Japanese gardens and bonsai.
The pine tree is considered auspicious and symbolizes good fortune and celebration. Since ancient times in Japan, the pine tree has been regarded as an auspicious evergreen symbolizing peace and longevity."
