Published by Moon & Dog Press of Tokyo, Japan / South Beach, OR. Master Printer Seiichi Hiroshima.
*Notes from Seiichi Hiroshima: "Rick made this dry point on a copper plate in 1999. I only printed a trial proof (T.P.) then, then I printed editions in 2015, and Rick signed in 2016."
*Notes from Charles Froelick: "In 1979 Bartow began his professional artist career in ernest. He started with a distinct series of graphite drawings. He began responding to subjects and making marks that he would carry with him and review throughout his life. Some of those early subjects were transformation, self portraits, imagery inspired by literature, theater or common tales, and portraits of other artists- including several of Monet! In 2014 as Bartow's health begain to fail he made an extra large self portrait drawing and called it "Self in Monet's Hat. That drawing is in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art. As Seiichi noted- Rick scratched this plate in 1999- making this among the early images that Rick made with Seiichi."
