In “red room” V. Maldonado reflects on their return home after attending the California College of Art in 2000. They remembered the solace their bedroom provided for them as a young artist coming back home to a family where they felt very misunderstood. Their "red room" was a limitless place to safely imagine, create, and disassociate from their family pressures and expectations. The "red room" was their haven.
