This painting depicts a cage that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) uses to detain immigrants. Migrants called the chain-link enclosures "pereras" or "doghouses" in Spanish. Built-in 2014 out of the public's scrutiny, the warehouses and the cages became infamous for their disastrous use in the following years.
