Moon & Dog Press. Portrait / homage to German artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945).
Bartow scratched this image on a copper plate in 1999. At the time Hiroshima only printed the six artist proofs (each is numbered) with ochre ink on sumi stained Kozo paper (grey).
in 2007 Hiroshima printed several proofs with black ink on brown paper.
In 2015 Hiroshima printed the edition of 16 of what Bartow then titled "K K 1" with black ink on mitsumata paper and Bartow signed the edition in 2016.
Susuzome is a textile dye made from turpentine soot from burned pinewood, forming “SUMI” (traditional Japanese drawing ink).
