This 2025 painting presents a Spring green scene in the vast Trans-Pecos desert of West Texas. The remote region is known for it's multitude of iconic plateau and stretches of empty highways. Robinson drove through the area decades ago while moving across the country.
Robinson comments, "This scene could be almost anywhere in the west, in late spring, as the brilliant greens of the desert mellow to amber. The highway itself is not much used and the gravel bears silent testimony to the cars and trucks that pulled over there for a break or perhaps to take in the scenery of the palisades. I like the feeling of being a very, very long way away from any corporate logo."
The custom frame was made by the artist.
