Join us Wednesday, December 4th for a special opening reception from 5 to 7pm, and a convesation with Nat Meade at 6pm. Sheesh, his solo exhibition of new paintings, depicts men who lie on the ground, float in water, or stand as flower petals, cigarette smoke, rain, tears, blades of grass, or waves blow across their faces. Rather than a critique, these figures stand in for Meade's own open questions regarding his relationship with manhood, adulthood, and fatherhood. Meade grew up in Oregon, recieved his BFA from the University of Oregon, his MFA at Pratt Institute, and now lives in Brooklyn where he is co-chair of Pratt Institute's fine art department. He was reviewed in the March 2019 issue of Artforum Magazine, and in Juxtapose Magazine, October 2018 issue. Meade was awarded the James Castle House summer 2020 artist residency in Boise, ID.
