Recent work by Dave Darraugh

Darraugh continues to expand upon the series of untitled drawings exhibited at the Portland Art Museum last year. Though completed as paintings, he likens the works to preliminary drawings for his sculpture. The minimal drawings reveal a glimpse into the future sculpture's subjects: a table, a vine, a tree stump, a human head. Challenging traditional norms he uses unorthodox materials such as housepaint on paper, and plaster. Suggestion, and formal composition charge Darraughs artwork.
