...TO QUIET THE MIND: Paintings by Robert Gamblin
Contemporary Tokyo Printmaker: Masahiko Kabata

August 1 - August 31, 2002

Landscape oil paintings by Robert Gamblin, noted founder of Gamblin Artist Oils. Exhibition focuses on 16 oil paintings, all of which were created on location in pristine areas of Oregon's wilderness.

Etchings and collagraphs by Masahiko Kabata evoke his life near an 900 year old temple. Lunar and floral design are interpreted through calligraphic markings and a dichromatic printing process. Among many public collections, Dr. Gordon Gilkey selected his work for purchase by the Gilkey Center for Graphic Arts, Portland Art Museum.
